Bailadores celebrates 425 years of foundation

The municipality of Rivas Dávila celebrated the 425th anniversary of the foundation of Bailadores on September 14. To mark the occasion, the State Legislative Council designated the locality as the Capital of Mérida State for one day.

During the solemn session, Governor Arnaldo Sánchez highlighted the historical importance of the municipality, noting its connection to Simón Bolívar. Mayor Carla Andreina Pérez emphasized the region's economic importance, stating that Bailadores is the nation's leading producer of roses and harvests over 45 different agricultural products that supply the country.

Ceremonies included floral offerings at Plaza Bolívar and the presentation of the 'Orden Ciudad de Bailadores' to Mayor Pérez and other local figures. The event also recognized professionals who provided support to La Guaira following the earthquakes on June 24.
