Baile do Ébano celebrates Black identity in Poços de Caldas

The third edition of Baile do Ébano was held on 8 August at the Arena Cascatinha in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais. The event, themed “Ébano como Essência”, aimed to create a space of belonging, celebration and strengthening of Black identity, highlighting ancestry, culture, music and dance.

Programming began at 17:00 with a dancehall workshop led by instructor Weverton Peregrino. From 18:00 to 21:00 DJ Léo Pac provided a set of Afro‑beat and dancehall tracks. The celebration was supported by the Prefeitura de Poços de Caldas, the Rede da Igualdade Racial, the Coletivo Cultural Ébano and the Grupo de Afoxé Herança Africana, with production assistance from local media and designers.
