Baiona organizes free historical tour following Francis Drake

The Baiona City Council's Department of Tourism is organizing a free guided activity titled ‘Following the footsteps of Drake’ on Sunday, September 13. Designed for children aged five and older and their families, the event aims to teach local history and heritage through interactive play.

The tour will take place on the Santa Marta Peninsula, focusing on the historical arrival of the English privateer Francis Drake in the area. Participants will engage in games, riddles, and various challenges to discover significant local heritage sites.

The meeting point is the Santa Marta beach lifeguard station at 11:00. While the activity is free, prior registration is required via the Baiona Tourism Office or email. The registration deadline is Friday, September 11, at 13:30.
