Baiona PSOE demands answers over restricted access at Faro Pequeno

The PSOE of Baiona is demanding explanations from Mayor Jesús Vázquez Almuíña regarding the restriction of access to public spaces near Faro Pequeno. The incident occurred during a private event held this Wednesday, coinciding with a solar eclipse.

Local residents reported that the private activity prevented citizens from using common routes to reach the coast, the beach, or the lighthouse itself. The socialist party argues that while administrative concessions allow for specific activities, they should not grant the authority to appropriate surrounding public areas or dictate citizen access.

The party noted that this follows a similar controversy in April 2024 at Faro Silleiro, where barriers were installed without proper authorization. The PSOE claims that the local government has failed to establish clear controls to prevent such occurrences, suggesting a pattern where actions are taken before permits are secured.
