BairesDev appoints Darren Shimkus as CEO

BairesDev, a major bootstrapped technology company, has announced a leadership transition. Darren Shimkus has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Co-founder Nacho De Marco will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board, where he will serve as a strategic advisor to Shimkus while focusing on new growth ventures.

The company reported that the change follows one of its strongest half-year periods in its 17-year history. The leadership shift is intended to accelerate BairesDev’s transition into an ‘AI-first services company.’ Shimkus, who joined as an advisor in late 2024, has been credited with restructuring commercial teams and launching the company’s first purpose-built AI offerings.
