Bais City schools suspend classes following security threats

Two schools in Bais City, Negros Oriental, suspended classes on Wednesday following separate threats circulated via social media and text messages. The affected institutions include Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) – Bais campus and Bais National High School.

At the NORSU-Bais campus, a Facebook post from a seemingly fictitious account claimed a student intended to harm a teacher and classmates. Police are working with a Cyber Crime Unit to trace the account owner. At Bais National High School, a report regarding a student carrying a firearm was investigated and found to be false, as no weapon was located.

Local authorities and school administrators evacuated students and personnel as a precaution, deploying police personnel to the campuses to conduct verifications and maintain order.
