Bait al-Maal al-Quds Agency supports sports tournament for cancer patients
The Bait al-Maal al-Quds Agency supported the ‘Jerusalem Throwdown 2026’ functional fitness tournament, held over two days at Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho. Organizers have dedicated a portion of the event's proceeds to support cancer patients at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem, coinciding with Pink October breast cancer awareness activities.
The tournament, organized by Fadi al-Waari and Mahmoud Sharaf, featured 220 participants from Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948 territories, along with over 12 international athletes. Revenue is generated through participant fees, corporate contributions, and the involvement of local small businesses.
The agency stated that this support aligns with its efforts to encourage Palestinian youth initiatives that combine sports with social responsibility. The initiative also complements free medical campaigns launched by the agency in Jerusalem and its surroundings to bolster the local health sector and support the resilience of Jerusalem's institutions.
