Bait al-Maal al-Qudsi Agency provides emergency aid to Al-Eizariya shelter
The Bait al-Maal al-Qudsi Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, has provided emergency assistance to the Arab Orthodox Charitable Shelter for Patients and the Physically Disabled in Al-Eizariya, east of Jerusalem. Supported by the Moroccan Association for the Reconstruction of Palestine, the aid includes food, medical supplies, cleaning materials, and sterilization equipment.
The facility provides 24-hour care for 46 residents with complex mental and physical disabilities, most of whom come from low-income families. The institution has faced a severe financial crisis since October 7, 2023, due to declining donations and reduced government support. Diana Mashhour, president of the shelter, noted that the aid is expected to cover essential needs for approximately two months.
Amani Quraie, director of the Jerusalem Governor's office in Al-Eizariya, highlighted that the region faces difficult political and economic conditions due to movement restrictions. She described the agency as a strategic partner in initiatives aimed at supporting the resilience of Jerusalem's institutions and residents.
