Baita Adamè refuge floodlights removed following environmental report

Stadium-grade floodlights installed on the facade of the Baita Adamè mountain refuge in the Adamello Valley have been removed following a formal report by the association CieloBuio OdV. The lighting system, located within the municipality of Cedegolo (Brescia), was situated inside two Natura 2000 protected sites, including the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, which are subject to high levels of wildlife and conservation protection.

The removed equipment consisted of Lumeitalia ‘Alia Sport’ models, which are modular systems specifically designed for professional stadiums and arenas. According to CieloBuio, the intensity of the lights could reach levels ten times higher than highway lighting standards, comparable to those used for medium-sized sports fields. Furthermore, the projectors were oriented vertically toward the horizon rather than downward, causing significant light dispersion into the sky.

Following an access to municipal records, it was revealed that the installation lacked several required documents under Lombardy regional regulations, including a lighting design project, photometric data, declarations of conformity, and necessary mayoral authorization.
