Baja California art exhibition opens in Chicago
The Baja California Secretariat of Culture has inaugurated the exhibition “Desde la Frontera. Visions from the Border” at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago. Curated by Carlos E. Palacios, the showcase features 34 works by 26 visual artists from Baja California and other parts of Mexico.
The exhibition explores various ways of inhabiting, imagining, and representing the borderlands, focusing on both the geographic and human landscapes of the region. It aims to highlight the artistic production of Baja California and challenge common paradigms that define the area solely by its border status. The event is part of the XXV October Festival “Territorios de Paz,” intended to promote the international reach of the state’s artistic creation.
