Baja California water agencies tackle Tijuana supply outage and expand sanitation projects

The Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (CESPT) is working nonstop to repair a failure in the Booster El Carrizo system that feeds the El Florido treatment plant. The malfunction cut water flow by about 12%, affecting the supply to 203 neighborhoods and prompting the agency to deliver water by trucks while repairs proceed.

CESPT is also carrying out 12 water‑and‑sanitation projects in Tijuana and the Playas de Rosarito municipality, installing over 3,700 m of potable‑water pipe, more than 17,000 m of sanitary‑drainage pipe, and a new treatment plant that will serve roughly 4,400 families.

Meanwhile, the Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Mexicali (CESPM) performed preventive maintenance on key hydraulic infrastructure, including pipe replacements at a wastewater pump plant, installation of a six‑inch flow meter at a drinking‑water plant, and cleaning and upgrades at a sewage pump station to ensure continuous water and sanitation services for the city and valley.
