Baja California Congress approves constitutional reform for digital services

The Congress of Baja California has approved a constitutional reform to Article 11 of the state's Political Constitution. The measure aims to strengthen administrative simplification and the digitalization of public services and procedures.

Under this reform, authorities at various levels of government are required to implement public policies designed to simplify processes, digitize services, promote regulatory best practices, and enhance the technological capabilities of public institutions. This aligns with the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.

The goal is to move toward a public administration where citizens can complete procedures via computers, mobile phones, or other electronic means without the necessity of in-person visits or long wait times. The reform also seeks to improve technological infrastructure to ensure that geographic location does not hinder access to services, while promoting transparency and reducing wait times.
