Baja California Diversity Commission fails to convene due to lack of quorum

The Diversity Commission in the Baja California Congress failed to hold a session after failing to reach a legal quorum. Deputy Jaime Cantón Rocha, who presides over the commission, was unable to proceed because several members from the Morena party and the Labor Party (PT) did not attend the meeting.

Despite the presence of LGBTI activists, the lack of attendance meant the commission did not meet the 50 percent membership requirement mandated by the Organic Law of the Legislative Power. Cantón Rocha requested that the group treat the meeting as a work session instead, urging absent legislators to prioritize the commission's agenda, which included planning for the final year of the legislature and recognizing community activists.
