Ensenada faces economic, environmental, and political developments

Various administrative, economic, and social developments are occurring in Ensenada, Baja California.

COPARMEX Ensenada has called on the state government to take concrete actions to restore investment confidence. The organization reported that only 18.1% of its members consider it a good time to invest, citing obstacles such as crime and bureaucratic hurdles.

In response to tropical storm Rachel, Conagua and the Baja California government are providing water relief to over 100,000 residents using water trucks and mobile purification plants. Efforts are also underway to manage flooding and restore desalination services.

On the political front, the Ensenada City Council has begun hearings for the Second Government Report, with officials reporting savings in public services and updates on the Gastélum Municipal Market. Meanwhile, the PRI party has filed a complaint against Mayor Claudia Agatón Muñiz, alleging she used municipal communication resources to defend herself against electoral complaints.

Additionally, the state government has reached an agreement with the local artistic community to protect the Ensenada State Center for the Arts (CEARTE) property, ensuring its use remains dedicated to cultural development through urban planning protections.
