Baja California firefighter competition Protección Civil emergency response training Bomberas y Bomberos de Acero

The Baja California State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC) held the “Bomberas y Bomberos de Acero 2026” competition in Tijuana to commemorate Firefighters Day. The event brought together personnel from various municipalities to test operational response capabilities and foster camaraderie.

Participants competed in ten different emergency response skills, including the use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), hose hoisting, forced entry, ladder climbing, and victim rescue. Winners were awarded specialized personal protective equipment.

In the women's categories, Jeshua Plascencia Vargas (Tijuana) won the 18-30 age group, and Mayra Lissette Herrera Zavala (Tecate) won the 28-37 age group. In the men's categories, Martín Benítez (Tijuana) took first place in the 18-26 group, while Moisés Vidaña (Tecate) won the 28-37 category.
