Baja California implements entrepreneurship training for incarcerated women

In Tijuana, Baja California, 28 women currently in the penitentiary system have completed entrepreneurship workshops designed to facilitate their social reintegration. These programs aim to provide practical tools for self-employment, allowing participants to launch productive projects and generate sustainable income upon their release.

Lorena Huerta Salas, State Commissioner of the Baja California Penitentiary System, emphasized that these opportunities are intended to help women develop capabilities, strengthen economic independence, and transform their life projects. The initiative involved collaboration between the State Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Ignacio Honold Morales, and the President of AMMJE, Artemisa Martínez Acosta, to provide training and support for women in vulnerable situations.
