Baja California legislator Santa Alejandrina Corral pushes for faster missing‑persons identification

State deputy Santa Alejandrina Corral Quintero presented an official exhortation urging the Baja California Attorney General's Office and the State Judicial Power to inform the state congress of the operational, technical, scientific and budgetary needs required to strengthen human‑identification processes and reduce the backlog of unidentified bodies.

Corral highlighted the crisis faced by hundreds of families still searching for missing loved ones and cited recent discoveries of at least 44 bodies in clandestine graves in the Miguel Alemán area of the Valle de Mexicali. She noted that a prior congressional request for similar information had not been answered and demanded a detailed report within 30 days, covering staffing, training of forensic specialists, laboratory infrastructure, and technology needs.

The proposal seeks to accelerate forensic analyses, improve genetic confrontations and provide clearer support to families of the missing.
