Mexican municipal leaders present second government reports

Several municipal leaders in Mexico have presented their second government reports, detailing various administrative achievements and challenges.

In Mexicali, Mayor Norma Bustamante Martínez highlighted road safety initiatives, including over 2,000 traffic operations and school-based road education programs. However, Public Security Director Luis Felipe Chan Baltazar noted a recent increase in vehicle thefts, particularly in shopping centers, prompting coordinated efforts with the State Prosecutor's Office.

In Tijuana, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz reported progress in infrastructure, such as the installation of 20,500 LED lights and improved waste collection. Conversely, opposition council members criticized his administration, citing rising rates of business robbery, home robbery, and disappearances, as well as frequent leadership changes.

In Cuautlancingo, Mayor Omar Muñoz Alfaro reported a reduction in crime and a 14 percent increase in tax collection. Meanwhile, in Baja California, Health Secretary Dagoberto Valdés Juárez emphasized accident prevention through medical emergency coordination and road safety awareness programs.
