Baja California opens Archery Excellence Center in Tijuana

The government of Baja California has inaugurated a new Archery Excellence Center at the High Performance Center in Tijuana. The facility represents a joint investment of 20 million pesos between the state government, the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE), World Archery México, and World Archery Americas.

Designed to prepare both youth and elite athletes for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the center features a specialized archery field with rehabilitated synthetic grass and new lighting, an armory, a strength gym, an athlete clinic, and offices. Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda noted that Tijuana’s strategic proximity to California provides a competitive advantage for Olympic preparation.

CONADE Director General Rommel Pacheco Marrufo stated that the project establishes a high-performance hub utilizing international coaches and a unified methodological system, which is expected to benefit both athletic performance and the regional economy.
