Baja California Prosecutor María Elena Andrade Faces Resignation Demand from PAN

State leader of the National Action Party (PAN) in Baja California, Lizbeth Mata Lozano, called for the resignation of state prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez after a judge declined to charge former Mexicali public security director Pedro Ariel Mendívil, citing insufficient evidence. Mata Lozano said the episode underscores a broader security and disappearance crisis in the state and criticized the performance of the Fiscalía General del Estado.

PAN also announced plans to seek an impeachment proceeding against Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, alleging that leaked audio suggests the governor shared security information with U.S. contacts. The party pledged to continue supporting families of the missing and to push for reforms in the state's justice system.
