Baja California reports fatal motorcycle crash and vehicle plunge

Two separate traffic accidents were reported in Baja California. In Mexicali, a motorcyclist died on the highway to Tijuana after losing control of their vehicle and falling under a moving trailer. Dashcam footage from the truck showed the driver attempting to brake, but the collision was unavoidable. Traffic officials noted that accidents are frequent on this stretch of road due to high speeds.

In a separate incident on the Tijuana-Rosarito highway, a pickup truck fell approximately 20 meters into a ravine near Calimax Montesinos. The accident occurred while the vehicle was being inspected for a mechanical failure; it appears the driver failed to engage the handbrake, causing the vehicle to roll backward off the road. A 14-year-old girl traveling in the vehicle was injured and received medical attention from emergency responders.
