Baja California Sur authorities find human remains during searches
Simultaneous search operations conducted on September 13 in Baja California Sur led to the discovery of human remains in San José del Cabo and Loreto. In San José del Cabo, partially buried remains were found near San Felipe in an arroyo leading to the San Lázaro dam. In Loreto, authorities located exposed skeletal remains in the El León arroyo following a citizen report.
Search efforts in La Paz and Mulegé concluded without findings. The operations were led by the State Attorney General's Office (PGJE) and involved the State Commission for the Search of Persons, various search collectives, the Mexican Navy, the National Guard, and local police forces. Forensic experts processed the sites, and the recovered remains were transferred to the Medical Examiner's Office for identification and further investigation.
