Baja California Sur Holds First Joint Legislators‑Mayors Conference

The XVII Legislature of the State of Baja California Sur will convene its inaugural Conference of Local Legislators, Federal Legislators and Municipal Presidents on Friday, 7 August, at the state legislative building. The forum, announced by the Mesa Directiva president Christian Fabrizio del Castillo Miranda, will bring together the 21 state deputies, federal senators and deputies, and the mayors of the five Baja California Sur municipalities. Its purpose is to coordinate a common agenda on priority issues such as environmental protection, public health, and budget management. The conference implements Decree 2685, issued in 2019 but not activated until now, and is slated to meet twice a year – the first weeks of March and August.

“The forum seeks to promote topics for the social development of Baja California Sur,” Castillo Miranda said.
