Veracruz Congress opens nominations for Heberto Castillo Martínez Medal

The Permanent Commission on Science and Technology of the Veracruz State Congress has opened the call for proposals for the 2026 Heberto Castillo Martínez Medal and Diploma. This distinction is awarded to individuals or entities that have made significant contributions to research, dissemination, or the application of science and technology to benefit the state and the nation.

Proposals are open to educational and scientific research institutions, civil and cultural associations, professional colleges, labor unions, and the general public. Candidates must be citizens of Veracruz. Submissions must include a statement of motives and a curriculum vitae with supporting documentation.

The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Legislative Palace in Xalapa. Following the submission period, the Commission will meet by October 2 to evaluate candidates and select a shortlist of three nominees to be presented to the Plenary for a final vote.
