Baja California Sur reports August crime statistics

Official crime statistics for Baja California Sur indicate various trends in criminal incidence for August 2026. Regarding crimes against children, a second report of child pornography was registered in the state during August, following an initial case in January. This brings the total number of investigation files for this specific crime to 148 during the first eight months of the year.

In the category of crimes against the family, nearly 300 investigation files were opened for domestic violence in August. This represents a 10.21% decrease compared to July, which saw 333 incidents. For the full year of 2026, more than 2,400 reports of domestic violence have been filed in the region. Additionally, 80 cases of failure to meet family assistance obligations were recorded in August.
