Bajo Martín launches olive oil heritage route
The ‘Entre olivos y almazaras’ project in the Bajo Martín region is beginning to define a new olive oil route designed to promote local heritage and tourism. A key feature of the initiative is the installation of a 12-meter reconstruction of a traditional 16th-century beam press and quintal at the Molino de la Sociedad in Albalate. This reconstruction aims to serve as a visual landmark and an open-air museum to demonstrate historical oil extraction processes.
The project also includes the installation of interpretive signage at various points of interest, the recovery of access to four monumental olive trees in Albalate, and professional regeneration pruning. To enhance the visitor experience, the initiative will offer sensory and gastronomic activities, including the creation of tasting kits to help local producers engage tourists through workshops and tastings.
