Bakauheni port drug bust arrests Indonesian navy sailor and Brimob officer
Indonesian police in Lampung seized about 5 kg of methamphetamine, 202 ecstasy pills and related paraphernalia at the seaport interdiction area of Bakauheni harbor on 27 June 2026. The operation led to the arrest of six suspects, including two security personnel: a sailor of the Indonesian Navy (Corporal DK) and a member of the paramilitary police unit Brimob (HB).
Authorities confiscated three large plastic packages of meth, one package of ecstasy, a black backpack, four mobile phones and two vehicles. The drug haul was valued at more than 5 billion rupiah for the methamphetamine and about 60 million rupiah for the ecstasy. Four suspects identified by initials—HS, HR, HB, DK—were detained; the civilian and Brimob suspects remain under police investigation, while the navy sailor was transferred to the naval police detachment. Police said the bust prevents an estimated 150,000 people from being exposed to meth and 202 individuals from ecstasy abuse.
