Bakery and food technology sectors convene at IBAKTECH in Istanbul

The 15th IBAKTECH International Bakery, Pastry, Ice Cream, and Chocolate Technologies Fair has opened at the Istanbul Expo Center. Organized by Messe Stuttgart Turkey, the event brings together representatives from 27 countries to discuss production technologies, changing consumer preferences, and export potential in the food sector.

Industry experts at the fair noted a rising consumer awareness regarding nutrition, with increased interest in whole-grain, less processed, and traditional sourdough products. The event aims to connect component manufacturers with machinery and technology firms to enhance competitiveness and sustainable investment.

In a related development regarding the broader economic landscape, the Adana Chamber of Foodstuff Exporters (AHBİB) held an awards ceremony to recognize 27 firms for their 2025 export performance. AHBİB President Veysel Memiş highlighted that despite rising costs and global uncertainties, exporters are focusing on increasing value-added products and strengthening brands to secure Turkey’s position in the global food supply chain.
