Baki Gaiden Retsu Kaioh anime adaptation announced for 2027

An anime adaptation of the manga spin-off ‘Baki Gaiden: Retsu Kaioh Doesn’t Mind Being Reincarnated in Another World At All!!!’ has been officially announced. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027 and will be produced by TMS Entertainment.

The story follows the character Retsu Kaioh, an iconic figure from the Baki universe, after his death during a confrontation with Musashi Miyamoto. Instead of a definitive end, the narrative transports him to a fantasy world filled with magic, mythical creatures, and swords. In this isekai setting, Retsu must apply his kung fu mastery and discipline to survive encounters with goblins, dragons, and sorcerers.

The original manga, based on the universe created by Keisuke Itagaki with art by Eiji Mutsui, has been serialized in Monthly Shōnen Champion since 2020. A teaser trailer has been released, though specific release dates and the primary voice cast have not yet been confirmed.
