Bakir Izetbegović backs dismissed Komunalno Mostar workers

President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegović, met with representatives of 22 workers from the public utility Komunalno Mostar who had recently received termination notices. He voiced full support for the employees, stating that the SDA will use all political, legal and institutional means to protect their labor rights and to reverse what he described as illegal dismissals.

Izetbegović urged competent authorities to promptly examine the legality of the terminations and to order the workers’ reinstatement, warning that the unilateral actions of the acting director and the political responsibility of Mostar mayor Marijo Kordić were worsening inter‑ethnic tensions in the city. The meeting was also attended by Mostar City Council President Đani Rahimić and SDA Mostar board chair Alis Čolaković.

The SDA called for swift action to safeguard the rights of Bosniaks and all citizens of Mostar and Bosnia‑Herzegovina, emphasizing the need to protect the workers’ full rights and to prevent further erosion of inter‑community relations.
