Bakkerij ’t Bakkertje to reopen all stores after fire

Bakkerij ’t Bakkertje, a family-owned bakery based in Helmond, is set to reopen all eight of its locations this coming Monday. The business had been forced to close for approximately one and a half weeks following a fire on September 3.

The fire originated in a meter cupboard during electrical work intended to install new cooling systems, resulting in an explosion that caused burns to an electrician. While some of the bakery's ninety machines were destroyed, owner Theo Dirks confirmed that essential equipment, including the ovens, remains functional.

Following the restoration of power, the bakery is conducting test runs to ensure all systems are operational. To thank the community for their support through messages and gifts, the bakery is offering a 25 percent discount on all products for one week.
