Bakom urges regional governments to communicate national priority programs

The Government Communication Agency (Bakom) is emphasizing the critical role of regional public relations (PR) in conveying national priority programs to the public. During a workshop for provincial and district/city PR officials in North Sumatra, Bakom highlighted that regional PR serves as the final link in translating national policies into language accessible to citizens.

A key priority mentioned is the scheduled increase in professional allowances for non-ASN teachers. Starting in 2026, the allowance for certified non-ASN teachers is set to rise from Rp1.5 million to Rp2 million per month. Bakom officials stressed that regional PR must explain such programs clearly to maintain public trust.

Furthermore, Bakom stated that government communication must be a two-way process. Beyond disseminating information, PR officials are tasked with collecting public feedback, complaints, and criticism to be forwarded to relevant ministries and agencies. Hariqo Wibawa Satria, Acting Deputy for Government Communication Development at Bakom, noted that communication services should be available at all times to meet the constant public need for information.
