Bakoyanni: Mitsotakis must take responsibility if ND falls below 25%

New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyanni stated in a recent interview that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis should take responsibility if the party fails to secure at least 25% of the vote in upcoming elections. Bakoyanni suggested that the party is close to achieving a majority, noting that voters seek stability amidst a major international crisis.

Addressing potential political shifts, Bakoyanni commented on the possibility of former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras forming a new party. She argued that while such a move might cause some electoral losses for New Democracy, it would not cause serious damage. She also dismissed Samaras's criticisms regarding taxation and inflation as lacking seriousness, attributing rising costs to international conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East rather than domestic policy.

Additionally, Bakoyanni commented on the political situation in France, describing the French government as paralyzed by a minority status and facing significant debt and social unrest. She noted that while peaceful protests are a constitutional right, the situation has been exacerbated by extremist elements.
