Baku to host 2026 Judo World Championships
The 2026 Judo World Championships will take place in Baku from October 4 to October 10, featuring 637 judokas from 96 countries. This event serves as a critical milestone in the qualification process for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Greek athletes Elisavet Teltsidou and Theodoros Tselidis are key competitors in the tournament. Teltsidou, a Tokyo Olympian ranked 11th globally in the -70 kg category, enters the competition following a gold medal at the Budapest Grand Slam. Tselidis, ranked 15th in the -90 kg category, will compete in a field of 49 participants after securing a silver medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam earlier this season.
Both athletes are scheduled to compete on October 8.
