Balaguer hosts 11th edition of Encontats literature festival

The 11th edition of Encontats, a festival dedicated to children's and youth literature, concluded in Balaguer with a large-scale celebration in Plaça Mercadal and the historic center. The event featured a variety of activities, including book markets, illustrations, and performances designed for families.

The festival included the inaugural performance of ‘Hansel i Gretel. Tot esperant el tren’ by the SimSalabim company. During the official inauguration, Carles Cano passed the ceremonial baton to this year's godfather, Carles Sala i Vila, a professional author specializing in children's literature.

Throughout the event, the streets hosted various installations and oral storytelling sessions. Local authorities, including Education Councilor Anna Profitós and Library Director Núria Arbós, noted the high level of participation from citizens, bookstores, and publishing houses.
