Balaguer residents evacuated after building collapse

Approximately ten people have been preventively evacuated from the historic center of Balaguer, Spain, following the partial collapse of an uninhabited house on Cuartel Street. The collapse occurred internally on a Friday evening, prompting emergency services to secure the area.

As a precaution, neighbors living in adjacent buildings were relocated to a hotel. Local authorities and the Collapsed Structures Group (GREC) are monitoring the site, as the building's facade is also considered at risk of falling. A new structural inspection is scheduled for Monday to determine if residents can safely return to their homes.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Local police have cordoned off the street while emergency crews assist displaced residents in retrieving personal belongings.
