Balandız neighborhood receives continuous drinking water
The Mersin Water and Sewerage Administration (MESKİ), operating under the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, has resolved a long-standing drinking water shortage in the Balandız neighborhood of the Silifke district.
To address the issue, MESKİ conducted drilling operations that successfully located a new water source with a flow rate of 13 liters per second. Infrastructure work included the installation of a 3,860-meter water line and the construction of a new pumping station depot to transport the water to the neighborhood's storage facility.
Previously, the neighborhood's water needs were met by a well in the Samadın region, which often proved insufficient during drought periods. The new system is designed to provide a continuous and secure water supply for the approximately 1,800 residents, particularly during the summer months.
