Balangir: Minor boy stabbed to death by another minor during card game

A 14-year-old boy named Sahil Patel was stabbed to death by another minor following a dispute during a card game in Rot village, located under the Agalpur police station limits in Balangir district.

The incident occurred at a village club house while the group of students was playing cards during a holiday for Eid Milad un Nabi. Reports indicate that a heated argument broke out between the two teenagers, which escalated when the accused left the scene and returned with a knife.

Sahil was rushed to Agalpur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The accused minor has been taken into custody by the Agalpur police, and a murder case has been registered. Local residents gathered at the police station following the incident, expressing shock over the violence.

Balangir sub-divisional police officer Saroj Upadhyay visited the village to assess the situation. The deceased's body was sent to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and interview eyewitnesses.
