Balarabe Akinwumi pledges support for fuel subsidy return

Balarabe Akinwumi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency in Ondo State, has pledged to support the return of fuel subsidies if elected. Speaking to journalists in Akure, Akinwumi stated that the removal of the subsidy has caused significant hardship for Nigerians and argued that any reversal must be strictly monitored to prevent corruption.

In addition to economic measures, Akinwumi advocated for the establishment of state police to address Nigeria’s security challenges. He argued that state-level policing would allow officers to better understand local terrains, languages, and cultures. He also called for increased investment in modern security technology, including drones, night-vision goggles, and intelligence-gathering tools, to replace outdated methods.
