Balcarce launches 22nd National Dessert Festival

The 22nd National Dessert Festival (Fiesta Nacional del Postre) has been officially launched in Balcarce, Argentina. Scheduled to take place from Friday the 9th to Monday the 12th at the Sociedad Rural premises, the event coincides with the city's 150th anniversary.

The festival focuses on regional products, particularly various versions of the “Balcarce” dessert. The program includes live cooking demonstrations by renowned pastry chefs and content creators, educational activities, and the traditional challenge to create the longest dessert. Local businesses and educational institutions will participate alongside guest chefs such as Lulo Kazimirczyk and Edgardo Ríos.

Tourism officials, including Subsecretary of Tourism Rosario Tufró and Mayor Esteban Reino, highlighted the event's role in promoting local culture and driving economic growth. The festival is part of a broader trend of increasing tourism in Balcarce, which has also seen economic benefits from the return of competitions to the Juan Manuel Fangio racetrack.
