Balearic government rejects anti‑tourism manual as parties clash over upcoming protest

Jaume Bauzá, the Balearic Islands' minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, rejected a manual distributed by the platform Menys turisme més vida that calls for actions against tourism‑related businesses. He denounced the document as the work of a “radical minority,” defended the right to lawful protest, and warned that the forthcoming demonstration on 26 July must remain peaceful and respect legal norms.

Separately, Lluís Apesteguia, leader of the separatist party Més per Mallorca, declined three times to condemn the same manual, saying it distracts from the broader debate on the islands’ economic model. While the PP and Vox parties labelled the manual “unacceptable,” the PSIB‑PSOE offered a milder response. The National Police have been alerted to monitor any criminal activity during the planned protest.
