Balearic Islands boost cultural promotion via new partnership

The Balearic Islands Government, through its Directorate General of Culture, has signed a four-year collaboration agreement with the Fundació Mediterrània to promote the region's intangible cultural heritage. This partnership aims to increase the international visibility of Balearic artists, companies, and cultural agents by facilitating their participation in the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, a major professional market for traditional and Mediterranean performing arts.

Under the agreement, the government will support selected participants by covering travel expenses and a portion of performance fees. In return, the Fundació Mediterrània commits to including at least two Balearic companies in the fair's official programming.

Separately, the itinerant exhibition ‘De claror i de cor’ is currently on display at the Institut Menorquí d’Estudis. The exhibition honors Blai Bonet, a significant figure in Catalan literature, as part of the celebrations for the ‘Year of Blai Bonet’. The showcase highlights his diverse literary contributions, spanning poetry, novels, essays, and theater.
