Balenciaga presents Spring 2027 collection in Paris

Pierpaolo Piccioli presented Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection during Paris Fashion Week, titled ‘Les Coraux de la Liberté’. The show featured a monumental textile sculpture by French artist Aude Franjou, inspired by the organic growth of red Mediterranean coral.

Piccioli’s collection focuses on applying couture methodologies to everyday wardrobe staples, such as denim, leather jackets, and T-shirts. The designs emphasize ‘freedom of movement’ and ‘freedom of choice,’ utilizing light materials like double cashmere, kid mohair, and silk gazar to create voluminous yet relaxed silhouettes. The collection aims to bridge the gap between high couture and ready-to-wear, treating couture as a mindset rather than just an exclusive service.

This presentation marks Piccioli’s third ready-to-wear show since joining the house in late 2025. The collection arrives amidst industry speculation regarding the brand's performance under his direction, as the house seeks to redefine its identity following the era of previous creative director Demna.
