Balestrate begins redevelopment of Scaro dei Pescatori coastline

The coastal area of Scaro dei Pescatori in Balestrate is undergoing a major redevelopment project to restore its historical maritime identity and improve tourism potential. Supported by funding from Flag Golfi di Castellammare e Carini, the initiative aims to transform a previously neglected site into a functional and safe area for the community.

The 90-day project includes removing sections of concrete, creating safe access to the beach, and revitalizing the areas near the port entrance to create a new pedestrian walkway and social space. Balestrate Mayor Vito Rizzo stated that the works are a fundamental step in urban and economic relaunch, focusing on the protection of natural heritage and local history.
