Bali fish seed exports reach Rp6.41 billion through August 2026

Exports of grouper and milkfish seeds from Bali reached Rp6.41 billion through August 2026, a significant increase from the Rp4.43 billion recorded throughout the entirety of 2025. While the export volume of 3.29 million fish is currently lower than the total volume from the previous year, the total value has already surpassed 2025 levels.

The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) attributes this growth to the implementation of the Good Fish Seed Production Method (CPIB Benih) certification. This quality control measure ensures seeds meet international standards, including Codex Alimentarius and WOAH, by monitoring environmental management, waste, heavy metals, and the absence of antibiotics to prevent antimicrobial resistance.

Key export markets for these Balinese fish seeds include Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
