Bali hosts global peace and AI governance forum
The Tri Hita Karana Universal Reflection Ceremony 2026 took place on September 5 at Sunset Mandala in the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone. As part of the Bali Harmony Encounter Week, the event brought together delegates, spiritual leaders, academics, and youth representatives from over 70 countries.
Under the theme “Holding Space for Peace: Peace Within, Peace Among Us, Peace with All Life,” the forum addressed the need for inner and collective peace amidst global fragmentation and technological disruption. Suyoto, Vice President of the United In Diversity Foundation, emphasized that peace is an active relationship that must be nurtured daily through the principles of Tri Hita Karana, which focuses on harmony between humans, fellow beings, and nature.
The week also included the Bali Harmony Dialogue, which addressed the global AI gap. During a lecture titled “Intelligence: Natural and Artificial,” Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Stella Christie urged developing nations to move beyond being mere consumers of technology and instead become architects in global AI research and governance.
