Bali International Oval cricket complex under development in Indonesia

Cricket Indonesia is developing the Bali International Oval (BIO) in North Bali, a two-oval cricket complex designed for year-round elite competition and high-performance player development. Located in Desa Sanggalangit, Buleleng, the facility is currently under construction, with oval footprints established and center-wicket blocks taking shape. Upcoming work will focus on wicket maturation, surface refinement, and drainage and irrigation systems.

The complex will house the Garuda National Cricket Academy, serving as a centralized hub for Indonesia’s senior and age-group squads. The academy aims to integrate training, sports science, coach education, athlete recovery, and tournament operations.

Inspired by Indonesia’s formal membership in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in January 2024, Cricket Indonesia envisions the venue as a regional high-performance hub for the Asia-Pacific. Abhiram Singh Yadav, chairman of Cricket Indonesia, noted that the infrastructure is being built to prepare for cricket’s global expansion and its return to the Olympic Games.
