Australian tourist arrested in Bali for public indecency

An Australian man, identified as 27-year-old B.A., has been arrested at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali while attempting to fly to Brisbane. The arrest follows an investigation into a viral video showing the man and an unidentified woman engaging in a lewd outdoor sex act in a residential area of Tibubeneng, North Kuta.

The incident occurred on a Saturday night near Jalan Pantai Berawa, where a local homeowner reportedly confronted the pair during the act. CCTV footage allowed authorities to identify the man, who was placed on a Subject of Interest (SOI) list by immigration officials to prevent him from leaving Indonesia.

Badung Police are continuing their investigation, and a search is underway for the female companion involved. Under Indonesian law, public indecency can carry a prison sentence of up to 18 months. Immigration authorities have stated they will impose sanctions if any visa violations are confirmed during the legal process.
