Bali school revitalization program expands to 401 schools in 2026

The Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has announced a significant expansion of its school revitalization program in Bali. For 2026, the program will cover 401 educational units, a substantial increase from the 188 schools included in the 2025 cycle.

Minister Abdul Mu’ti stated that the initiative aims to improve the quality of educational services by repairing damaged classrooms, sanitation facilities, and supporting infrastructure. Beyond educational benefits, the Minister noted that the revitalization process supports the local economy by creating employment opportunities within local communities.

Specific cases highlighted include SD Negeri 15 Dangin Puri in Denpasar, which faced structural issues after a classroom collapsed during a storm, and TK Indraprasta Kuta in Badung, which has dealt with recurring floods. The program focuses on ensuring structural safety, cleanliness, and adequate learning environments to enhance student comfort and enthusiasm.
