Bali Tech Week 2026 focuses on Indonesia's digital economy
Bali Tech Week 2026, held from October 19 to 23 in Bali, aims to strengthen Indonesia's digital ecosystem by connecting startups, investors, and technology companies. The event features the HUB. ID program, which has scheduled over 900 formal business meetings to facilitate collaboration and investment opportunities.
During a panel discussion titled ‘Southeast Asia as a Global Leader in Innovations’, GoTo Group CEO Hans Patuwo and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), Dr. Ismail, discussed strategies for digital economic growth. They emphasized that while internet access has reached approximately 235 million people in Indonesia—about 81.72 percent of the population—further development in technology and talent is required to ensure equitable economic benefits.
Dr. Ismail highlighted the importance of balancing national and regional interests while developing digital values to drive prosperity. Additionally, officials noted that talent development remains a crucial issue within the ASEAN region, as human capital serves as the foundation for technological innovation.
